I am a bit unhappy with the care we received here recently. We’ve been here numerous times and have only had great experiences, but our most recent experience was not one of them. My dog presented symptoms of a sinus infection and was given an antibiotic to treat it over the next week or so. When he wasn’t making significant improvements, (still sneezing blood, still labored breathing, really all original symptoms sticking around), I looked up the antibiotic. Everything I read said it is great for skin infections, but not for this. I didn’t want to be one of those Google doctors, and I assumed the vet knew best and just continued giving it to him. Five days later, no improvements. I took him to a new vet, and they were just as confused about the prescription as I was. She said the antibiotic we got is never on their roster for this kind of illness, and that it is not typically for this type of issue. They also completed a much more thorough examination of his ears, nose, and throat. We left with new medication including a different antibiotic and an oral steroid. Less than 24 hours since we left that vet, my dog is no longer bleeding from his nose, he’s breathing normally, he slept through the night without so much as a sneeze, and he’s running around the yard like nothing is wrong. I am usually extremely satisfied with the care from WCAH, but am really disappointed with this experience. I am happy to come back for emergencies because the majority have been treated thoughtfully. But it does feel extremely frustrating that my dog had to experience five days of this simply because of what seems like a careless choice of treatment.
I had to bring my pup in for an after hours injury. There was a decent wait time if about 45+ minutes; the woman before me reported she had been waiting for over an 60. It seems the primary focus is stabilization over treatment. There wasn’t anything outstandingly positive or negative about the experience, although I appreciated their check-in a few days later to make sure I had been able to see the specialist I was referred to. Honestly, I’m just glad they’re open as after-hours vet options appear to be really limited around the area.
WCAH is a great hospital. Every vet here who I have met and worked with us are amazing. The service cost is also reasonable and affordable. They also open on Saturday til 3 pm which is a plus!! This is a very popular vet, so be ready to spend an hour on average for the waiting, especially on Saturday which can be 1.5 hour waiting. Bring some coffee, food, drink, and laptop with you while waiting for your call in the car :)
This is an amazing animal hospital. They took care of my cat Titan, even though he was being hissy. I had a great experience here and I would recommend this place to anyone
Lilly Belle has had constant injuries & illness since I adopted her at just 8 weeks old. Like many, she is my child. We have had to visit other emergency vets in the past & and not one of them compares to the care she received from Williamson Animal Hospital!!
From the fantastic front desk assistance, the loving techs, the outstanding fast-acting & knowledgeable veterinarians who have cared for her, I would never go anywhere else unless they advised me to.
Great communication, extremely clean, well-organized & top tier treatment! If you have an emergency situation with your fur child, I highly recommend taking them here!
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟!
I can not say enough positive things about this group. I had to take my little schnauzer down for fluids due to pancreatic issues. This group was recommended by our vet in Chapel Hill. We saw Dr Elizabeth Pearman and she and all of her staff were so kind. Everyone did a wonderful job of explaining the smallest detail and no one was pushy about treatments. The pricing was great too! Highly recommend!
Very professional and attentive. Very empathetic and great listening skills by the entire staff. The cost was reasonable as well.
Update:. I wanted to add another year of experience to this review. The staff here is incredible from the office, to the techs and from the fellow clients to the doctors. I adore this place for quick nail trims to more serious issues with my furbabies. These guys and gals are by far the best vet experience I have had the pleasure of experiencing in all my pet ownership. Their prices are exceptionally reasonable for the type of care and experience you receive. If I could give them ten stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, I would.
Woke up early and drove quite far to get my dog to the vet this morning. Closed with a note on the door. Online says your open. Labor Day is Monday not all weekend… also several other cars showed up too.
